Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  Do I need an adapter to use my scope with your stand?

A:  Only if it does not have the typical modern "triod foot" with 1/4" x 20 tpi threaded hole.  We do offer an accessory called a "Saddle Head Clamp" that will allow any scope without a tripod foot to be used on our stand.  See the Misc Items page for details and pricing.

Q:  What is the working height range of your stand?

A:  Lying prone, with the head assembly at about 5".  Standing, would be at approximately 63".  If you use a 45 degree eyepiece scope that is tall enough for a shooter about 6' 3".  Tactical stands have a minimum height of 5" and a maximum height of 40".  Tactical stands should not be used for Hi-Power use.  They are too light, and have too small a footprint to adequately support a scope at the height required for Hi-Power shooting.

Q:  What about straight eyepiece scopes?

A:   They typically are used a bit higher for prone and require more rod height for standing.  For taller shooters I provide extra height at no charge.

Q:  What type scope should I purchase if I don't already have one?

A:  I suggest you call me to discuss your needs.  I have 49 years of competetive shooting experience and can help you avoid common pitfalls, and probably even save you money.

Q:  What material are your stands made of?

A:  The HIGH POWER stands are a CNC machined steel base with solid machined aluminum legs, stainless steel tubular rods with stainless fittings; the head assembly is all CNC machined acetyl and PVC with the exception of the control knobs.

The lightweight version and the Palma version are the same size but have a CNC machined aluminum base with lightened legs and aluminum rods.  All use the same head.

(All aluminum is aircraft grade material, anodized)

The tactical stands are very lightweight aircraft CNC machined aluminum, anodized.  The poles are anodized aircraft aluminum heavy wall tube, with anodized fittings.  The head is CNC machined acetyl with ball thrust and Teflon bearings.  Knobs are plastic.  Top cap/combination tool is acetyl.

Q:  What is the warranty on your stands?

A:  All stands are guaranteed for life against breakage (plastic knobs excluded) and will be rebuilt/replaced by us as needed at no charge.
